Position Summary The Data Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of data used across Martins Point Health Plan and Delivery Systems reporting environments. This role supports high quality outcomes by validating data, evaluating system outputs, and ensuring that analytics and operational processes meet defined standards. The position plays a key role in supporting cross functional teams by providing objective quality oversight and ensuring that data driven solutions function as intended with integrity. The Quality Engineer contributes to organizational goals by promoting consistency, transparency, and trust in the data used to support decision making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Public Health, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Data Quality, Software Testing, or a related role, including experience validating data using SQL.
  • Experience validating data using SQL, including writing complex queries.
  • Experience working with healthcare delivery systems or health plan data (claims, encounters, eligibility, provider, or clinical data).
  • Experience validating reports or dashboards in Power BI.
  • Understanding of data validation methodologies, testing principles, and QA best practices.
  • Knowledge of healthcare operational workflows, health plan processes, or clinical data environments.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes, data pipelines, and relational database concepts.
  • Awareness of data governance, data integrity standards, and regulatory considerations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Proficiency in SQL for data validation, profiling, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to create structured test plans, test cases, and test documentation.
  • Skill in validating Power BI dashboards, datasets, and calculations.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for translating technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify data anomalies, investigate root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across technical, analytical, and business teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality work with minimal/moderate supervision.
  • Ability to apply healthcare domain knowledge to ensure data accuracy and operational relevance.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving systems, tools, and organizational needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Power BI for report validation or data analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the accuracy and integrity of data by validating inputs, outputs, and transformations across systems to support reliable operational and reporting outcomes.
  • Develops test plans and test cases that ensure new and existing data processes meet business, regulatory, and operational requirements.
  • Executes functional, regression, and integration testing to confirm that data workflows, reporting solutions, and system enhancements perform as intended.
  • Identifies data anomalies, defects, and inconsistencies and collaborates with technical and business teams to drive timely resolution.
  • Designs and executes SQL‑based validation queries to confirm data quality and support root‑cause analysis.
  • Validates Power BI dashboards and reports to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business definitions and data standards.
  • Applies healthcare delivery system or health plan knowledge to ensure data and reporting outputs reflect accurate operational, clinical, and regulatory expectations.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement by recommending and implementing automated enhancements to testing processes, data quality controls, and documentation practices.
  • Supports cross‑functional teams by providing clear, objective quality insights that inform decision‑making and promote reliable data use.
  • Maintains thorough documentation of testing outcomes, data validation results, and quality findings to support transparency and audit readiness.
