About The Position

Ohio Surgery Center is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to join our administrative operations. This role supports clinical, billing, and patient-care teams by accurately entering, updating, and maintaining sensitive information across our digital systems. While the position can be performed onsite, we also offer remote work options for qualified candidates. This remote opportunity is ideal for individuals who are self-motivated, disciplined, and able to manage tasks with minimal supervision in a structured remote workflow environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in data entry, administration, or record management.
  • Strong typing skills (60+ WPM preferred) with excellent accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting or collaboratively in an office environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Understanding of medical terminology is a plus but not required.

  • Experience working in a healthcare, surgical center, or medical office setting.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive data responsibly.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with both onsite and remote teams.

Responsibilities

  • Enter, update, and verify patient, medical, and surgical procedure data within internal databases.
  • Maintain accurate logs, spreadsheets, and reports to support daily administrative operations.
  • Review documents, patient forms, and medical records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform quality checks to identify and correct data inconsistencies.
  • Communicate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Support billing, scheduling, and compliance departments by preparing clean, error-free data.
  • Handle confidential information in accordance with HIPAA and internal security standards.
  • Participate in remote team meetings, training sessions, and workflow improvements.
  • Prioritize tasks efficiently when working from a remote environment to meet daily productivity goals.
