AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This team is responsible for keeping the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers, and managing servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continuous customer access to innovation. The team works on challenging problems with numerous variables impacting the supply chain. The Data Center Technician role involves joining a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Collaboration across AWS is key to delivering high standards for safety and security, providing infinite capacity at the lowest cost, and fostering an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas. As a Data Center Technician, you serve as a primary resolver for your support team, proficient in troubleshooting one or more operating systems. You are expected to troubleshoot and resolve most infrastructure issues, escalating only the most complex problems to appropriate resolver groups. Responsibilities also include creating and maintaining documentation on supported technologies and conveying Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to junior staff. You must understand all aspects of the equipment you support, be capable of independent innovation and decision-making, and also follow direction meticulously. You will execute small projects autonomously and collaborate with your manager on planning and executing larger local projects, acting as an escalation point for junior technicians.
