About The Position

The Infrastructure Operations team is looking for cleared Data Center Technicians to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. Data Center Technicians are the primary resolver and troubleshoot and solve a range of datacenter infrastructure issues including, but not limited to: hardware, fiber, networking, and related problems. If you like to use IT principles like computer architecture and the OSI model (Open Systems Interconnection Model) and apply them to finding solutions to problems, we’d like to meet you. Your work will help to maintain one of the world's largest information system infrastructures. This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Requirements

  • High school or equivalent diploma, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following hardware platforms (e.g. Dell, HP)
  • Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications
  • Associate's degree in IT-related field plus two years of progressively responsible experience

Responsibilities

  • All tasks associated with planning and tracking capacity, rack deployment, rack cabling, hardware and software troubleshooting, and rack decommissioning.
  • Take ownership of technical issues brought by their customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution
  • Show a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Solve problems at their root and step back to understand the broader context
  • Maintain service level agreements through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting
  • Are biased to act in the absence of direction or support
  • Improve effectiveness through process innovation
