Position Overview ON.energy is seeking an experienced Contract Recruiter to support high-volume and specialized hiring needs during a critical growth phase. This role will partner closely with hiring managers and leadership to source, engage, and close high-caliber candidates across engineering, project development, operations, and corporate teams. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, data-driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, scaling environment.

Requirements

  • 3–7+ years of recruiting experience (agency or in-house; energy, infrastructure, or climate-tech experience strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting for technical and/or project-based roles
  • Strong sourcing skills (LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, referrals, networking)
  • Experience working in a high-growth or startup environment preferred
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple roles simultaneously and prioritize effectively
  • Familiarity with ATS platforms and recruiting analytics

Nice To Haves

  • Experience hiring in renewable energy, battery storage, power markets, or infrastructure
  • Experience recruiting across multiple geographies
  • Experience supporting scaling organizations

Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs, role requirements, and team dynamics
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment: intake meetings, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer negotiation, and closing
  • Develop and execute creative sourcing strategies to attract passive and active candidates
  • Build strong talent pipelines for technical (e.g., engineering, project management) and commercial roles
  • Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the process
  • Track and report on recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, pipeline health, conversion rates, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Support employer branding initiatives and optimize job descriptions for clarity and impact
  • Advise hiring managers on market trends, compensation benchmarks, and hiring best practices
