About The Position

This position may involve commuting between offices located in the greater Lansing area and occasionally statewide for short periods of time. Reliable personal transportation is required. The role is hybrid: onsite two days per week (Wednesdays are mandatory; the second day is flexible). Local candidates only—must be based in Michigan at the time of submission. Interview Process: In-person. Candidates must be available for an in-person interview. Serve as the IT Business Analyst for mission-critical applications supporting a state government entity. Responsibilities include: Collaborating with clients and IT teams to develop requirements and analyze data Leading activities related to RFPs, cost estimation, impact analysis, and test strategies Acting as liaison to vendors and representing the agency in strategic planning Participating in statewide IT initiatives and ensuring timely issue escalation Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Knowledge of business analysis methodologies and process modeling
  • Experience in project estimation, planning, and forecasting
  • Strong experience in documenting and gathering business, functional, or technical requirements
  • Ability to organize and develop test plans and test cases with business SMEs
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and methodologies (Agile, CMMI, etc.)
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and Visio
  • Ability to draft RFP requirements and perform project-level analysis
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to lead requirement capture activities and build cross-functional relationships
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT Project Management, or related field preferred.
  • Reliable personal transportation is required.
