About The Position

Nordstrom is looking for a People Data Analyst 3 to analyze employee data, build dashboards, improve data flows, and optimize measurement frameworks across the enterprise. This position sits within the People Analytics team in Human Resources and partners with a broad set of cross‑functional stakeholders, including HR Centers of Excellence, Finance, Workforce Management, Operations, and Technology teams, with periodic exposure to executive and senior leadership audiences. The People Analytics team is passionate about understanding and improving employee experiences and business outcomes through data-driven insights. The team is responsible for building enterprise reporting and dashboards, developing scalable insights, establishing data governance, and creating compelling presentations that inform strategy and decision-making across the organization. As an integral part of the People Analytics team, the People Data Analyst 3 is responsible for the analysis, development, and presentation of insights that support data‑informed decisions across Human Resources platforms and programs. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Data Science & Analytics. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical rigor, can comfortably partner across functions, and can translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both operational and executive audiences in a fast‑moving environment. Proactively manage analytical projects end‑to-end, maintaining a consistent cadence of communication, alignment, and updates with stakeholders. Analyze complex, enterprise‑wide business questions and deliver insights related to workforce health, operational effectiveness, and employee experience. Collaborate with analytics teammates and business partners to deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions and recommendations. Bring data to life through clear storytelling, tailoring insights for audiences with varying levels of technical expertise, including senior leaders. Balance and reconcile competing stakeholder needs in a fast‑paced environment, prioritizing work based on enterprise impact and strategic value. Provide KPI definitions, analytical interpretation, and insight development to support leadership and executive‑level presentations. Leverage large, complex data sets to define and refine metrics that meaningfully track outcomes across the employee lifecycle. Continuously assess the effectiveness of the analytics tool stack, monitor data quality, and partner with stakeholders to drive adoption and usability. Serve as a subject-matter expert in Workday Reporting & Prism, Looker, and Google Cloud Platform, ensuring data is accurate, efficient, and decision ready.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience analyzing complex datasets, drawing conclusions, and making business focused recommendations.
  • 3+ years of experience extracting and manipulating large datasets using SQL.
  • Hands‑on experience with Workday reporting, Workday Prism pipelines, discovery boards, Looker, and people analytics datasets.
  • Proficiency in at least one statistical or programming language (Python or R preferred) to independently analyze and summarize data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of HR, workforce, or people related data domains; exposure to broader business or operational analytics is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, statistics, economics, or a related field preferred.
