About The Position

This position ensures the safe and legal handling and shipping of HAZMAT, Dangerous Goods, and other regulated materials for all inbound and outbound shipments. Responsibilities include proper separation, palletizing, loading, and storage, as well as accurate and timely processing and distribution of all related paperwork.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform spill clean-up functions as required.
  • Ability to complete all basic and re-currency training for spill clean-up.
  • Ability to read and understand current regulatory manuals and regulations in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Effective verbal communication in a warehouse/cross-dock operations environment.
  • Associate's degree in a related field plus 2 years of progressive warehouse experience, or
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of progressive warehouse experience.
  • Valid Hazmat and Dangerous Goods (DG) certification required.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • All education must be verified and accredited by the Department of Education.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret information
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Ability to sit, walk, or stand for the duration of the shift
  • Must possess visual acuity to perform essential job functions
  • Ability to conduct physical tasks with a full range of motion throughout the warehouse environment
  • Ability to lift/carry items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to maneuver packages weighing 75 lbs or more with appropriate equipment or assistance.
  • May require prolonged standing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform spill clean-up functions as required
  • Regular inspection and handling of hazardous materials
  • Perform basic warehouse material handler functions
  • Complete all basic and re-currency training for HAZMAT and other regulated materials
