We’re looking for a Cyber Security Systems Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a critical role in safeguarding enterprise systems, networks, and data. In this role, you’ll help design, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive cybersecurity program—balancing technology, policy, procedures, and education to protect the organization against today’s most sophisticated threats.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, systems engineering, or related technical roles
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with: Secure operating systems, networks, databases, and security monitoring tools
  • Incident response and forensic analysis
  • Security architecture and engineering analysis
  • Deep understanding of legal and regulatory cybersecurity requirements, including: FERPA HIPAA GLBA PCI DMCA
  • Ability to clearly explain complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Proactively evaluate enterprise systems and network environments to identify risks and vulnerabilities
  • Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and penetration testing, delivering enterprise-wide security recommendations
  • Design, recommend, and implement defense-in-depth security strategies based on emerging malware and threat trends
  • Respond to and resolve complex system and network security incidents, exercising sound judgment under pressure
  • Participate in and support Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) activities, including incident containment, remediation, and recovery
  • Perform forensic preservation and analysis of systems and data to support internal investigations and legal requirements
  • Develop and recommend security architectures, standards, and procedures that promote operational efficiency and resilience
  • Interface with vendors and, as needed, external entities such as law enforcement or government agencies
  • Assist in developing and delivering cybersecurity awareness and training materials
  • Mentor or provide guidance to junior engineers, as appropriate
