Remove cable from stock working from order cut schedules and/or written instructions. Visually inspect cable for damage, defect, length / accuracy (item label to match print legend), while advising supervisor of any discrepancy. Spooling, and cutting finished cables to length per customer requests. Paying special attention to “special instructions” such as, but not limited to: Exposing ends of cable. Striping cable. Lagging reel. Prepare spool for shipment per company’s policies and procedures. Completes quality checklist as required for all shipments. Ensure finished product is stored in customer pick up area or outgoing shipment area. Remove cable from stock, working from production work orders. Visually inspect cable for damage, defect, length, and accuracy (item label to match print legend) advising supervisor of any discrepancy. Spooling, and cutting finished cables to length per production work order requirements. Paying special attention to “special instructions”. Ensure spool is sent to designated assembly area. Completes quality checklist as required. Scans reels, picking tickets, production work orders into company’s operational software (SAP) for product and order traceability. Assist in regular cycle counting and physical inventory stock takes. Ensure all the above comply with company’s quality management system ISO 9001:2015. Must take ownership of your workstation ensuring the area is clean and well organized. Complies with all safety and quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions including wearing required personal safety equipment; utilizes and abides by ISO and Safety Procedures. Ensure drivers, customers or visitors are greeted and serviced in a professional and courteous manner. Also ensure they are not permitted in the warehouse area without proper PPE and a Prysmian escort. Forklift Certification (applies to all levels). Experience Required: Assistant or Operator 1: Entry level Able to comply with essential duties and responsibilities listed above. Operator 2: 2-4 years’ experience Order Pulling and Stock put-up with Forklift. Parts pulling and re-stocking. Senior Operator 1: 4-6 years’ experience Apply stripe to cables as needed per customer request. Wash print legend from cables as needed. Print cable legend to cables as needed. Loading and unloading of trucks Light shipping duties Senior Operator 2: Greater than 6 years’ experience Lead cycle counts and team lead for physical inventories. Assist shipping personnel. Education: High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. Other Skills (preferred): Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and SAP. High attention to detail and results. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Additional Requirements: Able to work with limited supervision. Able to follow directions. Results oriented while maintaining attention to detail. Ability and willingness to learn. Work is performed under the overall supervision of the Plant Manager. Works independently within authority limits and experience level. Incumbent must establish priorities and independently set daily objectives to meet deadlines and address urgent situations as they occur. Requires the ability to comprehend and evaluate facts and arrive at a decision consistent with company standards and procedures. Must be thorough and accurate in making selections, determining product specifications, and monitoring current performance. Decisions are required as to which procedures are applicable to a given situation and how best to obtain results consistent with company practice. Substantial financial loss could occur if work specifications are incorrect which would lead to inefficient use of company capital resulting in expenditures to fix poor quality product to customers.
