Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Customs Analyst or Entry Writer
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and ABI filing
  • Proven experience with HTS classification and import/export compliance
  • Familiarity with CBP's ACE Secure Data Portal
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good organization and decision-making skills, detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and cope with time deadlines
  • Good mathematical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Perform tasks and responsibilities detailed in Magna’s IATF16949 policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Customs Broker License (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Perform and maintain accurate HTS classification, valuation, and country-of-origin determinations.
  • Review and validate shipping documentation including invoices, packing lists, and transport documents.
  • Organize and manage efficient document filling process.
  • Collaborate with customs brokers to ensure declaration compliance on a daily basis.
  • Verify import and export declaration with provided instructions, origin certificates, USMCA certificates, …
  • Check Customs and Accounting traceability in SAP.
  • Prepare, file and track CAPE declarations in CBP's ACE Secure Data Portal.
  • Assure and monitor the use of import adjustment offset licenses (e.g. Section 232) provided by customers.
  • Prepare and coordinate post-entry corrections (PSC) in cooperation with brokers.
  • Request and archive Supplier’s Long-Term declaration in collaboration with Purchasing.
  • Responsible for management and oversight of customer requests in the fields of Free Trade Agreement qualification, Origin determination, RVC calculation…).
  • Monitor sufficiency of continuous customs bonds and coordinate renewal process.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, carriers, brokers, and CBP.
  • Support Supply Chain team in shipment activities.
  • Support cross functional teams with Duty Impact Analysis to assist with sourcing decisions and landed cost calculations.
  • Coordinate the preparation of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) / Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) company certification.
  • Ensure compliance with CBP regulations.
  • Provide reporting and analysis to Management via Ad Hoc and/or ACE Reports.
  • Assist with the development of departmental procedures and ensure that established procedures are properly understand and being followed in regards to areas of direct responsibility.
