About The Position

The CTS intern will be part of the Customer Technical Support team and will be heavily involved in defining and developing database tracking mechanisms for company assets in use by our lab engineers. This will simplify the process of conducting mandatory Annual Fixed Asset Audits and will proactively identify items which have reached the end of their service life and automate the processes for submitting them for e-waste recycling. Candidate will be expected to have a basic knowledge of computer operations from a hardware and software standpoint. Candidate will be part of an active and ongoing database definition and development process and as such will be expected keep on track with assigned activities.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of storage technologies & equipment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Familiarity with Python, Java or shell scripting

Nice To Haves

  • Linux software knowledge a plus

Responsibilities

  • Learn about CAPEX equipment and methods to track company assets internally
  • Document and develop strategies to track and organize and report on assets
  • Ensure that scope of project is appropriately sized for 8-week internship
  • Create and deploy equipment database for use by CTS Management
  • Automate workflow for new and aging equipment to ensure accuracy and completeness for CTS as well as Finance and other internal teams.
