About The Position

Works under general supervision to perform specialized clerical work involved in organizing analyzing processing and maintaining operating financial statistical and other specialized reports and records pertaining to departmental functions.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing, or statistical work; AND 
  • High school diploma or possess a GED;
  • Three (3) years of appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing; or statistical work experience and one (1) year of college study (30 semester hours or 36 quarters).
  • PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

  • Provides customer service in issuing and processing transactions related to motor vehicle applications/ registrations, business tax and licenses, certificates, permits, and other such functions.
  • Greets customers and answers phone calls, including providing customer service by answering questions regarding departmental policies, procedures, and work functions of motor vehicle registration, business licenses, and notary.
  • Operates office machines; develops and maintains records, reports relative to business licenses and permits.
  • Collects fees and other required monetary charges related to department-specific services and processes, and prepares daily reports as required for the balance sheet, deposits for the bank; etc.
  • Registers various permanent certificates of license and replaces or reissues lost or stolen plates, certificates, licenses, or other documents applicable to department procedures.
  • Processes applicable fees and charges, balances cash drawers, calculates and records daily revenues received.
  • Receives documents of various transaction types and reviews for completion and accuracy.
  • Ensures compliance of associated regulations for each type of transaction.
  • Research records of the Traffic Violation Bureau for the purposes of late renewals.
  • Sorts, files, and maintains control records; and organizes all documents relating to licenses, certificates, vehicle titles, and registration in order to provide legal support for the handling of such transactions.
  • Performs other related duties as required or directed.
