About The Position

Granite City Processing (formerly Heidtman Steel Products) is seeking a motivated and detail-driven Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join our Granite City team. This role is essential in delivering the world-class service our Toll Processing customers expect. You’ll oversee customer-owned steel as it moves through our facility—from receipt to shipment—while working closely with receiving, operations, scheduling, and shipping. Requirements

  • Strong proficiency with the full Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication abilities
  • Data entry experience

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of process flow within an operational environment (preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of steel and steel production (preferred)
  • Prior experience in shipping and/or scheduling (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain consistent, professional communication with customers regarding order status
  • Enter and verify work orders and production orders with accuracy
  • Monitor production progress and coordinate with scheduling and operations to expedite orders when necessary
  • Provide shipping with accurate customer release information
  • Troubleshoot issues such as production order errors, missing tags, inventory discrepancies, and invoicing concerns
  • Support additional tasks as needed to ensure efficient workflow
  • Other duties as assigned
