About The Position

Customer Project Manager/Engineer (role assigned based on experience and seniority of candidates) - Project Management Department electrical buses Location – Italy, remote job with 60/70% travel Location is flexible within Italy, remote work from home office & frequent travels within Italian region and production sites. The Customer Project Manager/Engineer reports to and provides support to the Customer Program Manager - Italy by supporting project activities related to all projects. The position's main duty is to support the Customer Program Manager to ensure the continuity and efficiency of each project from start to finish through clear communication to all internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical areas (preferable electrical, electronic engineering or relevant professional background)
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in international environment in technical project management areas
  • Solid knowledge of the automotive, preferably the e-Bus market.
  • Proficiency in Italian & Chinese language. Excellent English language knowledge is also required.
  • Highly proactive being able to work towards goals without direct and constant supervision
  • Collaborative approach to organizational problem solving.
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others.
  • Ability to travel even up to 70% of the time within the region and abroad (BYD production sites).
  • Car Driver’s license

  • Relevant experience in similar B2B sectors.
  • Other European languages and experience in international companies
  • In-depth understanding of circuit diagrams; preferably High Voltage systems and transportation on-board system technologies

Responsibilities

  • Act as first contact window for customers assigned, stationed overseas.
  • Be responsible for visiting customers regularly, understanding customer needs, and following up customer demands until closing.
  • Responsible for ensuring correct project information exchange flow during the entire product development process from bus technical configuration to customer product delivery.
  • Lead technical communication with customers ensuring the collection of all customers technical requirements until design review document completion.
  • Promote the communication and material follow-up of customer-specified products or customer-supplied products.
  • Organize and plan customer satisfaction surveys and problem feedback follow-up of order delivery and assist the sales team to maintain customer relationship.
  • Handling of quality and material problems feedback by the body builder & follow-up of production and delivery progress of the cooperation project of the body builder, and handling of abnormalities and risks.
  • According to request, responsible for Overseas Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) activity planning, operation and completion. Act as BYD local reference during final delivery phase interacting with customers, local partners and internal BYD organization.
  • Collect and compile major customer complaints and distribute internally for resolution
  • Lead the project near the clients from order to delivery and communication during several production stages, Design Review, FAT, PDI and Final Delivery to ensure the smooth delivery of the project.
  • Support of all projects assigned by Customer Program Manager in the Italian Market.
  • Act as communication point of contact for the customers assigned in the region.
  • Develop a trusted, collaborative partnership with customers and PDI workshops
  • Transfer in efficient way all the requests from customers to BYD organization (Technical requirements during bus configuration, issues or doubts).
  • Be responsible for planning all the technical communication appointments with customers to achieve project milestone following BYD product development target
  • Be responsible for planning Factory Acceptance Test involving all relevant stakeholders.
  • Plan delivery key activities involving all the relevant stakeholders internal and external (customer, PDI workshop, on-board system suppliers, etc.).
  • First level contact for any PDI open points. Be able to understand technical problems and solutions to be implemented to smooth communication between BYD and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure all project documentation is accurate and properly uploaded into BYD system
  • Project status reporting: open points tracking and risk analysis during the entire product development phase
  • Perform tasks required by the Customer Program Manager - Italy for successful projects delivery.
  • Be capable to replace the Customer Program Manager - Italy for short-term coverage of project.
  • Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines and in a high pace environment.
  • High level of proactivity is mandatory; be able to anticipate the project risks and activities.
  • Work independently organizing visits on site to strengthen customer relationships, pre-inspection in production sites and to supervise PDIs activities over all the region.
