About The Position

The Custom Packaging Design Engineer will be responsible for the creation, development, and optimization of designs to meet the needs of internal and external customers. The ideal candidate will use their knowledge of engineering principles, mathematics, and materials science to design and test prototypes, ensuring that they meet the required specifications and standards. This role demands a high level of creativity, technical expertise, and the ability to translate complex requirements into practical packaging solutions.

Requirements

1-3 years of relevant work experience.
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) and experience with advanced design tools.
Read and understand production documents and both oral and written job instructions.
Work productively and efficiently in a self-managed manner with little direct supervision and manage priorities and workflow with constant changes.
Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Detail and accuracy oriented.
Accurately record and maintain data.
Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with diverse individuals at all organizational levels.
Interact constructively, respectfully, and cooperatively with fellow employees.

Responsibilities

Utilize advanced 3D CAD software to create detailed and accurate models.
Develop prototypes and conduct part fit testing to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and quality standards.
Create and maintain drawings for production, based on company standards and guidelines.
Have a deep understanding of the materials and processes involved in manufacturing designs.
Make revisions and accurately document changes within company databases.
Analyze data and feedback from customers to improve and optimize designs and processes.
Work closely with a variety of stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and team members to review projects and identify the customers’ design goals.
Manage multiple projects efficiently and effectively while meeting project deadlines.
Support the activities necessary to meet or exceed the financial objectives, including sales growth and profitability.
Think creatively and solve complex problems.
Identify and address any issues related to packaging performance and make necessary improvements.
Ensure ISO compliance and adherence in all company processes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
