About The Position

Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) has been providing quality service since 1957. We are one of the largest facility service providers in the State of Hawaii. We are seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and trustworthy individual with excellent customer service skills and detailed oriented individual to clean and maintain a commercial location. While previous experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or a related field is preferred, it is not mandatory. All applicants must successfully pass HBM prescreen check and preferably have a valid Hawaii driver’s license. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for cleaning common areas, maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies, and reporting any maintenance issues. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or with a team are essential. Requirements

  • Must pass HBM prescreen check.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Effective verbal communication skills in English.
  • Capacity to access and navigate two floors via elevator and stairways.
  • Physical capability to lift, bend, and handle trash disposal tasks.
  • Applicants must perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, frequently press, lift, push, pull, carry a minimum of 30lbs (up to 50lbs), be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, stair and ladder climbing and stand throughout their shifts.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or a related field is preferred, it is not mandatory.
  • Valid Hawaii driver's license preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience operating a golf cart is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as vacuums and floor maintenance tools.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a golf cart to navigate the property.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of all common areas within the facility.
  • Clean and organize office spaces to uphold a professional environment.
  • Clean and maintain six restrooms.
  • Restock restroom supplies and ensure restrooms are clean and sanitary.
  • Use vacuum equipment to thoroughly clean indoor flooring.
  • Sweep and mop both interior and exterior floors, and clean glass doors and mirrors to a high standard.
  • Disinfect frequently touched surfaces, including wiping down all tables and chairs to promote hygiene.
  • Collect and properly dispose of trash from designated areas, including lifting trash from bins and transporting it as needed.
  • Safely maneuver trash bins and navigate staircases as part of waste management duties.
