About The Position

CUSTODIAN ABOUT LCI The mission of LCI is to provide meaningful employment for the blind and visually impaired. We accomplish this in four ways: EMPLOY: We are one of the largest employers of people who are blind, creating meaningful careers and lasting skills that transform their lives. BUILD: We create over 2,000 products and distribute thousands more through manufacturing, retail, nationwide distribution, and e-commerce channels. SERVE: Many of our products are sold directly to the federal government. We were pioneers of “base supply centers,” stores on military bases that employ the blind and visually impaired and provide mission-critical supplies to our nation’s military. SUPPORT: We want to end blindness forever. To that end, we engage in philanthropic efforts for research into blindness and treatment for the visually impaired. ABOUT THIS ROLE Cleans rooms and halls in commercial establishment. Replenish supplies. Hang drapes and rolls carpets. Clean lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, and stairways. Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floor. Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies. Dust furniture. Wash walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Wash windows, door panels, and sills and empty wastebaskets. LOCATION AND SCHEDULE Jackson MS. - ON SITE Monday-Friday 7:30AM – 4:00 PM KEY RESPONSIBILITIES To keep assigned building interiors clean and orderly; to perform variety of custodial and minor building maintenance duties. Assigned to corporate office primarily. Sweeps, scrubs and mops floors. Strips, waxes, buffs and seals floors as directed. Vacuums and cleans rugs. Cleans bathrooms, walls, fountains, windows and replenishes supplies. Empties trash from assigned offices. Reports necessary repairs to supervisor. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

One year experience in janitorial or light building maintenance; or, combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
