About The Position

This is work supervising custodian crews in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitary conditions and appearance of assigned LSUHSC buildings. OTHER REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION This position is considered an essential personnel position and must be available to respond to campus emergencies after hours and during campus closures. The employee may be assigned to the emergency team that remains on campus and or evacuates to an off-site location during emergency events. This position may be placed on the On-Call rotation. Must have a current driver’s license.

Requirements

Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
Knowledge of institutional cleaning and disinfecting procedures.
Knowledge of operator service and use of commercial-grade housekeeping equipment.
Skill in performing institutional cleaning and disinfecting procedures.
Skill in the operation and use of commercial-grade housekeeping equipment.
Skill in applying supervisory principles and practices.
Ability to supervise people.
Ability to requisition, distribute and monitor use of supplies and materials.
Ability to maintain accurate records.
Ability to determine work priorities, assign work and insure proper completion of work assignments.
Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.
Ability to understand and apply LSUHSC rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stopping, kneeling and walking significant distances between and within buildings on campus.
Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges between the interiors and exteriors of the buildings.
Visual ability, corrected, to observe dangerous situations in the work area (such as wet floors) in order to redirect people to avoid injuries.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to communicate information effectively, in English, both verbally and in writing.
