About The Position

HELIX Environmental Planning, Inc., an employee-owned leader in environmental consulting, seeks a Cultural Resources Project Manager to join our Southern California team (San Diego, Pasadena , Orange County, or Inland Empire). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in archaeology, anthropology, history, or related field
  • 6+ years of archaeological project experience, including CEQA/NEPA/NHPA Section 106 compliance
  • 2+ years of experience working for an environmental consulting firm and/or agency
  • Experience in the study of Southern California prehistoric and historic archaeology
  • Strong research, technical writing, and organizational skills
  • Valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Professional experience with Native American coordination/communication
  • Registered Professional Archaeologist (or ability and willingness to obtain)
  • Knowledge of southern California local agency guidelines for CEQA compliance
  • Professional experience with agency coordination
  • Existing client relationships
  • Experience preparing proposals including a scope of work and/or budget

Responsibilities

  • Manage cultural resource studies for diverse projects
  • Oversee research, field surveys, artifact analysis, and mitigation monitoring
  • Collaborate with senior cultural resources staff
  • Coordinate with agencies and Tribal representatives
  • Prepare technical reports and proposals
