About The Position

Performs basic catering service duties for Culinary Arts Catering, including preparation of food items, serving and set-up and/or take down of events. Assists Catering Division employees with other tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better to be eligible to work in a Learn & Earn student employee capacity at Linn-Benton Community College.
  • LBCC Culinary Student preferred.
  • Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year’ experience in food service with equipment experience with knife, meat slicer, dishwasher, deep fryer, flat top grill, convection ovens, range and robot coupe food processor are preferred.
  • Must have a current Food Handler’s card or must obtain it within 30 days of employment.
  • Must be a current Linn Benton Community College student in good standing.
  • Must have the ability to independently carry out the duties of the position.
  • Must be able to sufficiently read and comprehend instructions and safety materials.
  • Must understand and follow labels and instructions for using detergents and chemicals used in cleaning.
  • Requires the ability to handle food and related equipment in a manner which meets county health and safety standards.
  • Must be able to safely work around hot surfaces and use kitchen equipment and knives in a manner that is safe for self and others in the area.
  • Requires the ability to receive and carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to work within a team and promote harmonious working relationships.
  • Must be able to interact with customers in a manner which reflects positively on the department.
  • Must be able to work respectfully with individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities.
  • Work Schedule varies

Nice To Haves
