About The Position

The CTST Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all CTST (student projects within the various trades) projects on center. This involves ensuring that supplies, students, and time are appropriately managed for each project. The coordinator also assists the Center Director in achieving the center's goals and objectives, prepares statistical data for reports, and emphasizes student accountability. Key aspects of the role include developing and implementing CTST projects, promoting center-based and work-based learning opportunities, training and supervising assigned CTT program staff, conducting classroom observations, and recommending hiring decisions for instructors. The coordinator ensures the safety, health, and security of students, staff, and property, and develops programs to promote student attainment of CTT completions, credentials, and job placement. Additionally, the role involves monitoring student progress, ensuring proper record-keeping, evaluating performance data, promoting compliance with the Center's Standards of Conduct System, ensuring adequate instructional staff coverage, and conducting regular staff meetings and quality assurance audits. The coordinator also monitors data center reports related to vocational performance and participates in mandated staff training.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Computer literacy with basic computer functions, email, internet, and basic programs such as Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of coordinating people and projects.
  • High level of communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • High level of ability to motivate, inspire, and train students effectively.
  • Minimum of two years related experience and/or training.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and/or equivalent combination of education, certifications, credentials and related experience related to the industry of the Career Technical Training Offerings.
  • Certified, licensed, or accredited in the state in which the Center is located or is accredited by a professional trade organization.
  • For NTC, instructor must be certified by union or trade organization, or by a national trade certifying organization. (RO may waive if Center is unable to hire certified or licensed instructors, but candidates must pursue certification.)
  • Valid State Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates all CTST (student projects within the various trades) projects on center by ensuring supplies, students and time is appropriate to the project.
  • Oversees students, supplies and time during the project.
  • Assists the Center Director in meeting the goals and objectives of the center.
  • Prepares all statistical data necessary in compiling monthly reports and other reports concerning disciplinary activities needed by the Center Director.
  • Emphasize student accountability through training and proper coordination to ensure that students are properly addressed.
  • Assists in the development and administration of the CDSS plan.
  • Helps establish, implement, and ensure approved curriculum is being taught.
  • Develops and implements CTST projects and for students.
  • Promotes center-based and work-based learning opportunities for students, ensuring assigned staff are conducting both CTST WBL activities as well as with on and off-center employers.
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate assigned CTT program staff.
  • Conducts and documents classroom observations.
  • Recommends the hiring and retention of certified instructors.
  • Ensures the safety, health, and security of students, staff, and property.
  • Develops and implements programs to promote attainment of CTT completions, credentials, and job placement to assure attainment of OMS goals.
  • Monitors student progress on Electronic Training Achievement Records (eTARS).
  • Ensures proper records on students' progress, attendance, etc., are kept by instructors to meet Job Corps credential requirements.
  • Evaluates performance data on student progress and makes data based decisions to promote higher levels of student achievement.
  • Promotes compliance with Center's Standards of Conduct System to recognize and document student behavior in collaboration with the Student Personnel Manager and individual counselors.
  • Ensures adequate coverage for instructional staff during absences through utilization of substitute(s) or conducting class, as permitted.
  • Ensures instructional staff assists students in developing and updating CPARs.
  • Models, mentors, and monitors appropriate career success standards through ongoing participation in evaluations of student progress.
  • Conducts and documents regular staff meetings with instructors and other departmental staff.
  • Conducts bi-weekly CTST planning and update meetings with instructional staff, CTT manager and other assigned center management staff.
  • Promotes and participates in PRH mandated staff training.
  • Conducts and documents quality assurance audits and self-evaluations to ensure program quality and integrity.
  • Continually monitors data center reports related to vocational performance including OMS, DCS, CTTRC, and placement outcomes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned within the individual's scope and capabilities.
