As we continue to expand our operations, we're searching for a skilled Critical Facilities Technician to join our team. As a CFT2 at Skybox, you will play a vital role in ensuring the uninterrupted operation of our next generation data centers. This position demands a high level of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be a key member of our team, leading troubleshooting efforts, mentoring junior technicians, and contributing to the ongoing optimization of our critical infrastructure.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in a data center environment or related field.
Advanced understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure and best practices.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to mentor and train others.
Ability to work overtime and 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Electrical/Mechanical certifications are highly desired.

Responsibilities

Lead Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to critical data center equipment, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, generators, fire suppression systems, etc.
Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough investigations into equipment failures to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Develop and Maintain SOPs: Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for critical equipment maintenance and emergency response.
Manage Vendor Relationships: Oversee the work of contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
Mentor and Train: Provide guidance and training to junior technicians), fostering their technical skills and professional development.
Conduct Facility Assessments: Regularly assess the facility to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
Maintain Documentation: Meticulously document all maintenance activities, incidents, and assessments within our computerized maintenance management system.
Champion Safety: Promote a safety-first culture by leading safety training programs and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Embrace Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of our processes, promoting a culture of innovation and operational excellence.
Participate in On-Call Rotation: Be available to respond to emergencies and critical incidents outside of normal working hours.
