Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) is seeking a Critical Care Technician (CCT), with Day and Night shift availability, and to provide rotating weekend and holiday coverage. Ellison 9 is a patient and family-centered 16-bed adult unit serving critically ill cardiac ICU patients. The most common diagnoses and/or interventions are hemodynamic monitoring, intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation, ventricular assist devices, CVVH, hypothermia after cardiac arrest, recovery from coronary procedures, including percutaneous aortic and mitral valve replacement, recovery from acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, respiratory failure and/or multiple organ dysfunction/failure. Critical Care Technicians applicants must have more than (1) year clinical patient experience, to be considered for this opportunity. Schedule: Days (7am-7pm) and Nights (7pm-7am) (3x)12hr shifts per week. Mandatory weekend shifts every month. What do we have to Offer? Weekly Pay Medical, Dental and Vision insurance. Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
Basic Life Support [BLS] - Generic - HR Only preferred
Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] - Generic - HR Only preferred
Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician [National Certification] - Generic - HR Only preferred
Experience working in patient care/elder care 0-1 year preferred
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Strong patient/customer service skills.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
Proficient in computer skills to work efficiently with electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.
Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks. This may include bathing and dressing patients, helping them use the toilet if needed, and feeding them.
Assist with helping patients turn and reposition themselves in bed as needed and help them move between the bed and a wheelchair if they use one.
Listens to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses.
