Join the team at RHA Health Services and help support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health needs, and substance use challenges in a facility-based crisis center. In this role, you’ll provide hands-on support to individuals experiencing psychiatric crises while helping maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment during overnight hours.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare assistant or similar direct care role
  • Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and supportive in high-stress situations
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with individuals with mental health or substance use disorders preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and supervision to individuals receiving crisis stabilization services
  • Ensure patient safety through regular safety checks and adherence to individualized care plans
  • Support a calm, therapeutic environment that promotes recovery and stabilization
  • Follow established protocols for infection control and patient care standards
  • Respond appropriately to emergency codes and situations, including de-escalation and crisis intervention
  • Demonstrate safe and effective techniques for managing aggressive behaviors and special precautions
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team collaboration efforts
  • Document observations and communicate effectively with the treatment team
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the health, safety, and well-being of the individuals served.
