This position serves as analytic staff in the Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement (OALE) Bureau of Investigations (BIS) under the supervision of the Crime Intelligence Analyst Supervisor-SES. CRIMINAL INTELLIGENCE AND INVESTIGATIVE ANALYST Coordinate and collaborate with OALE BIS and BUS commanders, supervisors, investigators and staff to support tactical, operational and strategic actions in support of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) statutory responsibilities. Research and analyze raw data, apply critical thinking and logic skills to develop sound conclusions, recommendations, and actionable intelligence to be presented via information and analytic products. This process will use established crime intelligence and analysis components to plan, collect, process, analyze, disseminate, and reevaluate data to support criminal investigations. Duties to support these responsibilities will include: Review, evaluate, and analyze available data, from open source and various law enforcement data bases and disseminate information and relevant data regarding criminal activity, criminal enterprises, and suspected criminal acts in support of criminal investigations. Prepare written or oral briefings, presentations, and educational products using charts, graphs and analytic resources to develop hypotheses based on collected data, developed intelligence and professional judgment. Conduct research and strategic crime analysis, analyze long term crime patterns and trends using statistical analysis and forecast future criminal activity. Responsible for the procedures and techniques related to computerized mapping, analysis and review of digital forensic data. Testify before grand juries and criminal trials on information developed during investigations and criminal cases when required or ordered to do so. MAINTAIN LIAISON AND SUPPORT FOR BUREAU OF INVESTIGATIVE AND UNIFORM SERVICES AND COMMUNICATION WITH OTHER LAW ENFORCMENT DIVISION AND AGENCIES Compiling, analyzing and disseminating information and intelligence from various agencies, the public, and other sources, to support criminal investigations. Requesting, receiving and documenting information of a confidential nature; coordinating inter-state and intra-state information and intelligence pertaining to criminal activity and criminal movement, and exercising independent judgement to ensure accurate and reliable information is disseminated and or produced in support of criminal investigations. MAINTAIN AWARENESS OF BUREAU OF INVESTIGATIVE AND UNIFORM SERVICES PRIORITY TOPICS AND PROVIDE ANALYTICAL SUPPORT TO THE BUREAU OF INVESTIGATIVE SERVICES AND UNIFORM SERVICES Regarding issues that may impact criminal investigations and uniform services, to include the providing tactical analytical assistance to criminal investigations, including but not limited to driver’s license photos, criminal histories, facial recognition, court documents, and vehicle registrations; and applying legal issues surrounding the analytical process including privacy, confidentiality, civil rights, and civil liberties protections within the investigative cycle and products. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING Seek career development opportunities and attend agency mandated and job-related training relevant to the position. UTILIZE ELECTRONIC, TECHNICAL AND SUPPORT SYSTEMS EQUIPMENT Operate computers using standard industry software, as well as specialty analytic and investigative resources to complete duties as assigned. Use standard office equipment to perform all duties as assigned. OTHER This position is required to assist other sections within the OALE as needed and performs related work and other tasks as required by management.
