About The Position

ATLAS Hope aims to add to the existing community violence intervention and prevention strategies in New York City by creating a continuum of care for adult men most likely to engage in serious community violence and least likely to receive the supportive services necessary to end cycles of trauma and violence. The ATLAS Hope program aims to meet the economic, emotional, and mental health needs of adult men, ages 25 and older who have had a history of trauma, lived experience with violence, and involvement in the criminal legal system by providing outreach, transitional employment, behavioral health supports delivered primarily through CBI, and coaching and case management. Crew Liaisons are responsible for supervising, supporting, and inspiring ATLAS Hope participants who are engaged in transitional employment through a trauma-informed and restorative justice lens on and off the worksite and during remote sessions, and adhering to the model prescribed by UWNYC, philosophies and approaches, manuals and policies, exude a collegial nature that is rooted in authentic engagement, and relish in the opportunity to collaborate with members across teams proactively. Crew Liaisons will be energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive. Crew Liaisons will act as team leaders and positive role models who positively and productively support transitional workers. Crew Liaisons will escort and/or transport the crew team to their designated work site location daily, as scheduled. Crew Liaisons support participants during their worksite experiences as they learn new soft skills and practice the teachings of the Cognitive Behavioral Intervention curriculum. The position requires an understanding of the challenges faced by men of color with gang involvement and the ability to motivate and use challenges as teachable lessons. The CC must meet our participants where they are, demonstrating our company's values through compassion and understanding; and affirming that none of us should be measured against the worst things we have done. The CC must demonstrate competency to develop systems and processes to organize and keep track of information or work progress; is routinely conscientious, thorough, accurate and reliable when performing and completing job tasks; and recognizes trends, detects inconsistencies, and determines essential details. Additionally, the CCs will need to collaborate with all ATLAS Hope team members to effectively support them in managing their participants and ensure attention to coordination in care for other services they might be receiving.
