The Division of Transportation Operations is responsible for managing the performance of the transportation infrastructure. Sections within the Division include curbside management, traffic signals, signs and markings, and system operations. As a Crew Lead you will: Operate all equipment associated with installation and removal of pavement markings Ensure proper calibration and operation of equipment such as long line Striper rig, Roto-mill, Strip Hog, Walk-behind Paint Machine Perform preventive maintenance and small repairs keeping equipment up and running. Trouble shooting equipment malfunction. Lead cross training of crew members in all aspects of pavement marking and signing operations, bike installations, bike corrals, bollards, vertical elements, U-racks, during off season – signage, and training of residential snowplow and may perform some heavy snowplow operation Implement safety standards, ensure compliance, and prepare work records, reports, assists Operations Supervisor with scheduling Responsible for asset management and communications through programs such as Cartegraph and MS Office Mentor and teach crew staff with process and procedures, broadens their skills and knowledge, and supports staff with development Ensure the team has proper understanding and practice of IMSA, MUTCD, CCD standards with signs and markings Oversee work in the field and supports the Operations Supervisor with providing feedback about crew performance and assists with conflict management, resolves issues that arise in day-to-day field activity.
