Seasonal Laborer (Traffic Signs and Markings)
About The Position
The signs are everywhere…. you could be working on a team that keeps Douglas County beautiful, organized, and safe. As a Seasonal Laborer on the Douglas County Signs, Striping and Roadway and Markings crew, you will assist with the manufacture, installation and maintenance of the traffic control signs and pavement markings that are essential to the community infrastructure and safety of the traveling public. Pay is $20/hour. This is seasonal work (March through November) and includes a 4-day work week during the summer. As a temporary position, no benefits are available. Requirements
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or GED. Must be at least 18 years of age.
- CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:
- Possession of Colorado drivers license at time of hire.
- A copy of Motor Vehicle Record is required at time of interview.
- Must obtain a Colorado Department of Transportation Flaggers Certification within six weeks of employment.
Responsibilities
- Operates equipment including forklifts, pickups, and single axle trucks.
- Assists in the manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of traffic control signs throughout unincorporated Douglas County in accordance with the latest version of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
- Assists with the installation of pavement markings throughout unincorporated Douglas County in accordance with the latest version of the MUTCD.
- Performs routine maintenance and operation of equipment.
- Ability to obtain a Colorado Department of Transportation Flaggers Certification Card within six weeks of employment.
- Will perform other duties as assigned.
