This position is from Sunday- Thursday 11pm-7am. Essential Duties: Scan in system and pull Job assignment duties from the reeler assignment Kiosk. P ull empty cones and/or tubes Ensure proper placement of yarn packages on the holders and that the yam packages match the yarn lot number being used for that machine. Splice the end of the new yam package into the tail of the package that is currently running Neatly organize and place all cones, tubes, and cardboard in a location that can be easily picked u by the lift truck driver Aspirate/Strip dirty yam off cones and use tube spreader on crushed cones when possible Notify Creel Lead of any non-conforming yarn Keep the area surrounding the assigned machines clean Assist the LTO by staging yam dollies and moving yam into creels Perform Creel Audits Help run knots at the end of a creel change when requested by Creel Lead or Supervisor May fill in as yarn packer with the exception of not operating Lift Truck. (see duties below) Pack yarn into a cardboard box or tray arrangement Check tube labels for correct lot and component Use a computer to print the case labels Changing stretch wrap (must have assistance of another employee when getting material and loading) Use a forklift move material from staging to packing area Non-Essential Duties: At the end of each job assignment, sweep the floor in the downstairs creel and pick up the strings and large debris in the upstairs creel before beginning the next job assignment If the creel is found during a creel check to be left in unsatisfactory condition, correct the findings as directed by Supervisor Peel any greasy yam off cone when possible As directed by the Supervisor, attend periodic departmental meetings As directed by Supervisor, perform non-quality-related duties when the need arises, must carry the radio when asked, and serve as the liaison between lift truck drivers and other creelers While working, if creel maintenance is needed, contact Supervisor Any other task assigned by department Supervisors and/or Management Physical Requirements: Stand for at least 8 hours Climb steps several times per day Walk through plant several times per day Withstand exposure to changes in both temperature and humidity C Bend, Stoop, Reach & Lift up to 15 lbs as described in the Creelers JHA Must be able to lift up 50 lbs Other Requirements © Manual dexterity and problem-solving ability C Communication and interpersonal skills Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out details written or oral instruction Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardizing situations Training Requirements: O EQA Tools, Equipment & Material Requirements: Snips, Air Splicer, and Duckbill Knife Safety Glasses Cut Glove D Safety Vest Pallet (for transporting materials) Safety & Security Requirements: Abide by and enforce plant safety rules and regulations Know evacuation routes and gathering location Wear grip gloves when performing all tasks Shaw Employee Benefits: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance Health Savings Account Shaw Family Health and Dental Centers (Dalton & Cartersville) Behavioral and Mental Health Support Paid Time Off Bereavement and Holiday Pay Paid Parental Leave and Leave of Absence Pay Employee Discounts Wellness Incentive Program Career Development & Education Assistance 401K Retirement Savings Plan Disability & Life Insurance Financial and Retirement Planning Medical & Social Security Assistance And More!
