We are recruiting for a Credit Risk Specialist to join our team in Farmington Hills, MI. This is a hybrid position, working 3 days in the office and 2 from home. POSITION SUMMARY: Financial expert in retrospective rating plans, large deductibles, wrap-up programs and captive programs. Strong customer service focus with the ability to build and maintain relationships with agency and insured senior leadership. Collaborates with stakeholders to analyze credit worthiness and proactively mitigates financial risks to the organization. Assesses credit determinations and adequacy of charges where applicable. Advise credit terms for payment of premium and risk acceptance to balance risk appetite and growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field.
  • 3 years customer service, finance or accounting experience
  • Proven track record of data quality and problem solving
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated successful ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within department and across the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze credit data and financial statements of entities to evaluate credit position of all programs and consult as requested with partner agency leadership.
  • Recommend and draft Special Risk credit protection plans, payment arrangements, billing procedures and other appropriate items, as well as grant credit terms for payment of premium or risk acceptance as appropriate.
  • Collaborate closely with producers and underwriters to discuss credit risk recommendations and verification of policy estimates, including participating in account and agency visits as required.
  • Minimize bad debt risk and maximize accounts receivable collections through analysis of adequacy of collateral on hand
  • Ensure established standards for turnaround time are met, in adherence to the service model and promoting a strong customer service focus.
  • Ensure accuracy of output from team through verification and cross checking
  • Review and analyze detriments to current process; participate in quality testing and review of results as needed to ensure data accuracy.
  • Recommend coding or system process improvements.
  • Maintain company standard of customer service and ensure excellent relationship persists.
