About The Position

As a Product Analyst on the Credit Card team, you'll dig into data to find opportunities that matter for our customers and Avant's business. You'll work on strategic initiatives that shape where our credit card product is headed, partnering with PMs, engineers, designers, and stakeholders across the company to turn insights into real product features. This role sits at the heart of some of our biggest bets as a company. An excellent candidate for this role is not content with only receiving explicit instructions or working from a queue. You are eager to learn, quick to communicate, and are comfortable taking on the unknown. What you’ll do at Avant:

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's in business, computer science, data science, or a STEM field
  • 1-4+ years of data analysis experience.
  • Highly analytical with proficiency in SQL.
  • Strong attention to detail. You can dive deep into messy data and come out with clear trends and insights
  • You're comfortable with ambiguity and can make progress even when things aren't perfectly defined
  • You're curious, analytical, and pragmatic - someone who can "get sh!t done"
  • You get excited about building the business as a whole, not just shipping features in isolation
  • You care about customers and use that empathy to drive your analysis

  • This role is based on our downtown Chicago Office, located in the Merchandise Mart.

Responsibilities

  • Communication: Build relationships with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to build cross-functional trust and awareness. Understand how different audiences may require different framing when explaining technical details.
  • Business Intelligence: Support the team’s data needs by developing a deep understanding of the data model, tracking KPIs, and executing requests for ad hoc analysis.
  • Strategic Impact: Develop subject matter expertise in your area of responsibility. Proactively identify and communicate opportunities for improvement using data-driven insights.
  • Drive the Product Development Lifecycle: Identify and prioritize business opportunities through data analysis Translate opportunities into product requirements Work with technical teams through implementation and testing Measure feature effectiveness and iterate
  • Leadership and Management: Help manage high-priority, high-value projects, and, after proven performance, manage individuals and teams or specialize further in areas of interest.
