About The Position

Column Technical Services is seeking a detail-oriented Credentialing Specialist , ideally with experience in hospital credentialing, to support MSO coordinators within a dynamic team at one of New York City's most esteemed healthcare organizations. Join us to explore this exciting opportunity! This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring candidates to reside in New York, NY, or New Jersey, with an expectation to be on-site once a month. Must have health care/physician provider credentialing experience

Requirements

  • Strong verbal, written, and customer service communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail for reviewing and analyzing complex documents.
  • Must be a proactive team player, tech-savvy, capable of working independently, and self-motivated.
  • Proficient in Excel, MS Outlook, Internet research, shared drives, and PDF file formatting/uploading, and capable of navigating with virtual meetings software.
  • Familiarity with CVs, PDF images, and license verification documents.
  • Completed vaccination required upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in hospital credentialing.
  • Experience with credentialing software.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry and review of credentialing files
  • upload files to the database, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Compile and maintain up-to-date and accurate data for all providers.
  • Handle provider credentialing, applications, and reappointments
  • monitor and follow up on applications as necessary.
  • Maintain copies of current state licenses, DEA certificates, malpractice coverage, and other required credentialing documents for all providers.
  • Ensure credentialing processes comply with NCQA standards.
  • Verify data accuracy and validity through thorough review and evaluation.
  • Understand the requirements and processes for maintaining, updating, and activating healthcare providers' licenses.
  • Navigate web-based software applications, upload/download files, access shared drives, use Outlook and Microsoft applications, and participate in Webex, Zoom and other virtual applications.
  • Update portfolios by uploading PDF files into the credentialing software.
  • Create Excel spreadsheets for data organization and reporting.
  • Initially shadow a current analyst to learn job processes and procedures.
  • Work independently with a positive, professional demeanor to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
