About the Role Lyra is looking for a Credentialing Specialist who is energized by delivering day-to-day support while taking ownership of critical compliance and credentialing processes, including expirables management and ongoing provider monitoring. This role manages licensure, DEA, CSR, board certifications, professional liability insurance, and actively monitors provider records to ensure continuous compliance with NCQA and internal standards. The Specialist will also oversee ongoing monitoring flags, new reports, and submissions to the Credentialing Committee, as well as communicate with providers to collect explanations and supporting documentation. The role balances direct provider support with operational compliance, ensuring that both the provider experience and client experience are optimized across Lyra’s nationwide network of mental health providers and group therapy practices. The Credentialing Specialist will support providers through Lyra’s onboarding process and ongoing work with clients, with a strong emphasis on thoroughness, customer service, and relationship management with key external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of customer or provider relations/credentialing experience in a clinic, outpatient practice or inpatient setting
  • Experience supporting a remote workforce is a plus
  • Experience working within an NCQA and TJC Accredited institution and solid understanding of NCQA and TJC accreditation requirements
  • Knowledge of primary source verification and credentialing standards
  • Experience managing licensure, DEA, CSR, board certifications, liability insurance, and monitoring compliance flags preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on quickly gaining trust by being thorough, patient and clear while troubleshooting remotely with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with CredentialStream, Zendesk, Salesforce, and/or Jira; otherwise you pride yourself on picking up new tools/systems quickly
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable managing competing long- and short-term priorities
  • Self-starter with strong initiative to research, take action, and streamline workflows
  • Passionate about improving mental health care and excited by our mission of leveraging technology to scale access to evidence-based therapies
  • Proven track record of collaborating across multiple teams in a highly collaborative environment
  • Prior experience working in the credentialing industry within a hospital, health plan, surgery center, or CVO preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage tickets and offer ongoing education and support to providers/practices on Lyra’s processes and policies; field daily questions and concerns from providers related to credentialing; update administrative information; provide as-needed technical support as providers/practices navigate our tools and systems.
  • Oversee all expireables for providers, including licensure, DEA, CSR, board certifications, and professional liability insurance; proactively track expirations and initiate renewal processes to prevent lapses.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring of provider records, reviewing system alerts, flags, and new reports; investigate findings, obtain provider explanations when required, and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Prepare and submit new reports, documentation, and findings to the Credentialing Committee.
  • Maintain and audit provider database information to ensure accuracy and compliance with NCQA and TJC standards.
  • Contribute to product and process improvements, providing an important provider voice, and champion any changes with providers.
  • Work cross-functionally with other teams to improve workflows, resolve issues, and implement new processes.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to identify bugs and improve the provider experience.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Provider Success team and the Credentialing Committee, keeping members updated on provider status, compliance, and monitoring outcomes.
