Requirements

  • Recent experience in a hospital or medical environment resulting in knowledge of medical terminology and professional physician interface.
  • Must possess good people skills/service excellence and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to perform detailed assignments, work independently, work under pressure and adapt to change.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) from the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) preferred or obtained within four (4) years of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for ensuring current information is maintained in physician files and credentialing software by calling or sending out queries requesting updated licenses, insurance certificates, DEA certificates, Board certifications, and verifying each at expiration.
  • Responsible for follow-up letters/phone calls; accountable for greeting visitors to office, handling telephone calls, filing, copying, faxing.
  • Act as support to ADME & Director, Medical Staff Services regarding preparation and mailing of applications and reappointment packets.
  • All services will be delivered in a courteous, prompt and professional manner.
