As part of XTG (Experience Technology Group), you join a specialized team focused on immersive, experiential, broadcast, simulation, and non‑traditional AV applications that push beyond conventional integration models. Our work blends technology, space, and content to create meaningful, memorable experiences. The XTG Technologist is a senior, customer‑facing technical leader responsible for creative technology consulting, pre‑sales visioning, and experiential system design. You will lead the technical narrative for complex projects, ensuring solutions are innovative, achievable, and aligned with both creative intent and business objectives. In this role, you will: Own the technical vision for experiential projects Translate abstract ideas and storytelling goals into clear, buildable system designs Balance creativity with real‑world constraints such as budget, logistics, schedule, and risk Act as a mentor and guide to engineers and designers supporting XTG projects This role requires comfort with ambiguity, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

  • Proven experience designing complex AV and experiential technology systems
  • Strong understanding of IP‑based AV systems, signal flow, and system architecture
  • Familiarity with industry standards (AVIXA, ANSI/TIA) and infrastructure requirements
  • Proficiency with design and documentation tools (CAD, diagrams, markups, presentations)
  • Ability to develop functional system narratives rather than only traditional construction drawings
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Formal education in Engineering, Technology, Design, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in experiential AV, broadcast, simulation, or non‑traditional AV applications
  • AVIXA CTS-D Certification
  • Experience working with creative agencies, museums, experience centers, or branded environments
  • Familiarity with enterprise collaboration platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex) within experiential contexts
  • Demonstrated contributions to design process improvements or creative standards development

Responsibilities

  • Partner with XTG Business Development and Account Managers to support opportunity strategy, client presentations, and proposal development.
  • Serve as a consultative technical expert, helping customers and creative partners understand what is possible and how it can be achieved.
  • Develop creative and conceptual system approaches, ROMs, time estimates, and equipment lists to support pricing and go/no‑go decisions.
  • Identify technical, logistical, and experiential risks early and clearly communicate trade‑offs to stakeholders.
  • Translate customer requirements and creative intent into: Functional system descriptions Block and signal flow diagrams Conceptual layouts and infrastructure narratives Engineering and architectural coordination inputs
  • Communicate design intent through sketches, diagrams, renderings, narratives, and presentations, adapting depth based on audience.
  • Coordinate with architects, fabricators, lighting designers, content creators, and contractors to ensure design alignment.
  • Review pre‑construction documentation and validate design assumptions prior to implementation.
  • Provide ongoing technical design authority during project execution.
  • Support installation and delivery teams with clarifications, adjustments, and technical problem‑solving as needed.
  • Act as a customer liaison for engineering‑related inquiries throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentor engineers and designers supporting XTG projects, sharing best practices in experiential design and creative problem‑solving.
  • Contribute to the evolution of XTG design standards, templates, and engagement models.
  • Evaluate new and emerging technologies by engaging with vendors and partners to identify opportunities for differentiation.
