Our Summer Internship Program is a paid, immersive 10-week experience designed to help you explore career paths while bringing your passions and fresh perspectives to work. This well-rounded program not only offers hands-on learning but also serves as a pipeline for future opportunities. The KDKA Creative Services department oversees television commercial production for the station, production of a lifestyle entertainment program called "Pittsburgh Today Live," production of a news/talk program called "Talk Pittsburgh," and production of all marketing/promotional campaigns for the station. KDKA-TV/CBS News Pittsburgh seeks a creative and ambitious intern with a love of journalism and video production to join our award-winning creative services teams. You will learn all aspects of studio and on-location production, from ideating/scripting, to producing and directing, to editing and design. With this opportunity, the right candidate will be exposed to numerous career paths in the journalism, production and creative services fields. Requirements
- Internships are available to students who will be Seniors or Master’s students in the fall of 2026. If you are a graduating Senior, please check our website for full-time job opportunities.
- You must be available to intern full-time (5 days a week/36-40 hours a week) for 10 weeks total starting in June.
- Interns will be required to work fully on-site for the duration of the program. Note: Paramount does not provide financial relocation support or housing stipends.
- Internships are paid at a competitive standard hourly rate (school credit is optional).
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
- Employment eligibility to work with Paramount in the United States is required as the company does not engage in sponsorship for internships.
Responsibilities
- Providing daily production assistance on both "Pittsburgh Today Live" and "Talk Pittsburgh"
- Acting as production assistant on remote commercial productions
- Writing, shooting and editing support for daily news promotion
