Our Summer Internship Program is a paid, immersive 10-week experience designed to help you explore career paths while bringing your passions and fresh perspectives to work. This well-rounded program not only offers hands-on learning but also serves as a pipeline for future opportunities.   The WCBS Creative Service department works closely with our news and sales department on all marketing, promotional and community outreach efforts for CBS New York. We produce promotional spots for our news teams, sales marketing/partnership spots and sponsorship materials as well as public service announcements for our community partners. We also coordinate the execution of all of these on our two TV stations (CBS New York/WCBS-TV and New York 55/WLNY-TV) and digital and social platforms.   We're looking for a candidate who is ready to jump into a hands-on production experience while working on a variety of creative materials - daily newscast topical promo spots, sponsorship elements, station IDs, social media clips and more.

Requirements

  • Internships are available to students who will be Seniors or Master's students in the fall of 2026. If you are a graduating Senior, please check our website for full-time job opportunities.
  • You must be available to intern full-time (5 days a week/36-40 hours a week) for 10 weeks total starting in June.
  • Interns will be required to work fully on-site for the duration of the program. Note: Paramount does not provide financial relocation support or housing stipends.
  • Internships are paid at a competitive standard hourly rate (school credit is optional).
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
  • Employment eligibility to work with Paramount in the United States is required as the company does not engage in sponsorship for internships.

Responsibilities

  • Candidate will learn about the news promotion, sales marketing process and social media.
  • Candidate will help edit video materials for news promotions, sales and social media.
  • Candidate will join and help with production/promo shoots in studio and on location.
  • Candidate will learn about community partnerships and help participate in on-site events.
  • Candidate will work closely with our team of Writers/Producers, Editors, and Graphic designers.
