About The Position

We are seeking a Creative & Design Strategist to join our Creative, Partnerships & Licensing team. The Creative and Design strategist transforms business ambition into creative possibilities. This role partners with brand management to help create a bridge between creative strategy and ideas to shape work that is bold, culturally relevant, and meaningful to the consumers we serve. They articulate inspiring briefs for creative and design agency teams, champion breakthrough ideas, and coach business teams on best-in-class work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, communications, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in a creative agency environment, with a track record of shaping impactful creative work
  • A passion for creativity, clarity, storytelling, and brand-building
  • An ability to inspire teams, simplify complex ideas, and bring out the best in partners and agencies
  • A collaborative mindset and passion for elevating work across disciplines
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation and storytelling skills
  • Experience in fast-paced environments, managing multiple projects
  • Experience navigating complex organizations
  • Ability to build relationships across multiple key stakeholders to both influence and drive alignment
  • Creative thinking and problem solving

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of experience in a creative and/or design agency environment, with a track record of shaping impactful creative work
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity & change
  • Experience building creative briefs, managing feedback loops, and supporting multi-channel campaigns

Responsibilities

  • Coach and inspire brand management teams to make bold creative and design choices during translation of business strategy into creative direction
  • Co-lead management of creative and design agency relationships and feedback cycles with brand teams
  • Curate inspiring case studies and create reference/training materials to build confidence and capability to elevate GMI's creative excellence
  • Partner with brand managers to refine creative briefs inclusive of business and consumer context while being simple, clear, actionable and inspiring, and ensuring they support creative excellence
  • Ensure brand design strategy and creative strategy are connected and consistent in execution
  • Collaborate with insights and analytics (I&A), media, and content teams to align creative vision to execution
