About The Position

Highly advanced professional accounting and supervisory work in the application of accounting principles and methods in the preparation, maintenance, analysis, and control of financial records.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Three years of progressively responsible experience in the preparation of financial reports and audited financial statements to include two years at the supervisory level and one year in data processing are required.
Excellent communication and facilitation skills with diverse audiences.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
Ability to analyze data and make evidence-based decisions.
Proficiency in Accounting Software and Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis tools.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Master's degree in Accounting
Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Strong knowledge of governmental accounting standards (GASB)

Responsibilities

Supervise daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Monitor and analyze accounting data to create financial reports.
Manage workload and deadlines for the accounting team.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
Implement and improve internal controls and accounting procedures.
Supervise, mentor, and train team members.
Assist in recruiting and hiring new team members.
Provide ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by executives or other departments.
