The Assistant Director of the Domestic Violence Division oversees the operations of the civil case management unit within the division, supervising Case Managers, Administrative Assistants, and Judicial Support Specialists. The role ensures the effective delivery of case management services that support the timely, consistent, and fair disposition of cases. The Assistant Director of the Domestic Violence Division is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Domestic Violence civil case management unit within the Domestic Violence Division, including supervising a staff of Domestic Violence Case Managers, Administrative Assistant(s) and Judicial Support Specialist(s). Specifically, the Assistant Director supervises and coordinates the work of each case manager in assisting Domestic Violence Division Judges with the timely disposition of cases through case management and case monitoring. The Assistant Director ensures that in each division the case managers are preparing cases for court hearings and briefing judges, attending hearings, providing case information to pro-se litigants and system staff, and performing case coordination and referrals to community-based services. The Assistant Director is also responsible for ensuring the uniformity of court procedures and identifying and providing solutions to systematic problems by meeting with interagency personnel. At the same time, the position requires one to act as the case manager to the Administrative Judge of the Domestic Violence Division. The Assistant Director works independently, reporting major activities through periodic meetings with the Division Director. Regularly communicate with judges and judicial staff to support the efficient administration of civil and criminal cases, while collaborating verbally and in writing with internal staff to coordinate schedules, hearings, and case management activities. Engage extensively with external partners, including public and private attorneys, community service providers, county support services, grant personnel, and other agencies serving victims, children, and offenders. Maintain ongoing coordination with the Clerk of Courts and Comptroller, AOC leadership, and other court divisions to ensure procedural consistency, legal compliance, and effective service delivery. The position also involves regular interaction with the public, self-represented litigants, and community stakeholders to provide case status information, procedural guidance, and referrals that support timely case resolution, victim safety, and access to services.
