About The Position

The Ninth Judicial District is seeking to fill two (2) Court Operations Associate positions within Beltrami County Court Administration: one Full-time position (40 hours per week, 1.0 FTE), and one Part-time position (20 hours per week, 0.5 FTE). In this fast-paced and detail-oriented role, you will be responsible for processing cases and assisting court customers and justice partners in order to provide justice through a system that assures equal access for the fair and timely resolution of cases and controversies. These AFSCME-represented positions are classified as a Court Operations Associate. Work is completed individually and in teams using independent judgment along with available resources to perform a variety of administrative assignments that requires dedication to providing excellent customer service, strong attention to detail, and technological skills to match our fast-paced, high volume, electronic environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of relevant job experience or greater, which may include but is not limited to customer service, administrative work, office, and clerical work
  • Experience providing customer service

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate or degree in a related field
  • Considerable knowledge of court procedures, policies, and records management
  • Experience working with the court's electronic case processing system
  • Experience providing customer service
  • Understanding of principles and practices of court proceedings, with an emphasis on applicable statutes, rules, and ordinances
  • Ability to write job procedures and develop training materials in order to provide technical and procedural training to staff
  • Ability to organize workflow and meet deadlines, plan and coordinate the daily work of other employees engaged in a variety of activities
  • Ability to be flexible in changes with workload, job assignments, new procedures, different computer systems, court trends, and priorities
  • Excellent listening, multitasking and customer service skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships

Responsibilities

  • Perform the full range of court operation work that may involve responsibility for a specific area of court case processing
  • Perform a variety of advanced clerical functions and multiple case types
  • Provide assistance to attorneys, parties, self-represented litigants, judges, and the public by responding to a variety of questions in-person, over the phone, by mail, and/or electronically
  • Provide courtroom support by working with judges, court reporters, and other justice partners
  • Review, enter, record, and update case information using an electronic case processing system and related applications and equipment
  • Schedule and maintain court calendars
  • Receive, process, and receipt payments due to the court
  • Attend court and assist by calling cases, taking notes, and handling documents in the courtroom
  • May perform the duties of an Electronic Recording Equipment Operator (EREO) including recording and monitoring court proceedings
