About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Count Supervisor and is responsible for the counting of currency of the Shooting Star Casino. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Shooting Star Casino team members will always deliver excellent guest service to our guests and fellow co-workers. Responsible for the drop collection of all bill acceptors. Responsible for the transfer of these monies to the count room. Counts all currency and coupons from the Blackjack boxes, Poker Boxes, Class II Bingo boxes, and Bill Acceptors. Works with the CDS system to provide an audit trail for the daily currency and coupon intake. Clips and straps currency, initials straps for tracking purpose. Ensures that all paperwork is completed, signed off on, and submitted to the gaming auditor(s). Ensures that all report totals agree with physical count of currency and coupons. Facilitates the transfer of all negotiable items to the vault ensuring the information is included to substantiate the bank deposit. Ensures that the security measures are adhered to for the count team and room. Maintains confidentiality regarding all aspects of the Shooting Star Casino. Adhere to all Internal Control Policies and Procedures, Department Policy and Procedure, and Safety Policy and Procedure. No supervisory responsibilities are required for this position. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or minimum of two months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, Licenses & Designations Must meet the requirements as prescribed by the Tribal-State compact for Gaming. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to handle American and Canadian currency, coupons, and/or blackjack chips with mathematical proficiency. Should have a very basic knowledge of computers. WORKING CONDITIONS Work performed in the count room the noise level is usually moderate. Work is performed in a confined area. Work performed on the casino floor the noise level varies from moderate to very loud. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle of feel and reach with hands and arms. Talking and/or hearing are also done regularly. Lifting and/or moving of up to 30 pounds are done frequently. Specific vision abilities required by this position include the ability to adjust focus. Requirements
