About The Position

Costume Shop Assistants work with the costume designer and shop manager in creating costumes for Parkside Theatre productions, as well as help maintain general costume inventory and shop resources. Set your own schedule within the open hours of the Costume Shop. Applicants should have a basic understanding of sewing by hand and machine. They will use these skills to build costumes and do alterations to existing garments.

Responsibilities

• Building, repairing, and altering costumes/garments used for Theatre Arts productions
• Organizing and maintaining the costume shop, craft room, and costume storage areas
• Assist in patternmaking
• Communicate with others well and work with a variety of personalities
• May involve light lifting
