“Tuacahn edifies and inspires the human spirit through professional world class family entertainment and an unparalleled artistic experience that matches the majesty of the canyon" Position Title: Costume Maintenance Assistant Lead Department: Run Crew - Costumes (Maintenance) Position Summary: Being a part of the Maintenance Crew means making every costume look their best, keeping the world of the play alive on stage in the middle of the red rocks of Padre Canyon. As the Costume Maintenance Assistant Lead you'll be helping lead and collaborating with the rest of the Costume Maintenance team to keep all the costume elements maintained. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the wash/cleaning schedule paperwork. You help oversee the crew duties including basic care, inspection, and cleaning of garments, shoes, wigs, and craft pieces; and help with them as assigned. You step into the Wardrobe Maintenance Lead role in their absence.

Requirements

  • Google Suite
  • Maintaining paperwork (washing schedules)
  • Laundry knowledge, including stain removal techniques
  • Steaming/pressing of garments
  • Basic sewing for garment repairs
  • Basic shoe repair
  • Shoe wear/tear inspecting
  • Basic knowledge of craft items repair
  • Basic wig repair
  • Basic wig cleaning
  • Basic wig styling and blocking
  • Ability to work with performers and staff in a positive and professional manner while on campus at all times
  • Ability to listen, take instruction, and to participate in a team to complete the assigned tasks
  • Clean and maintain all spaces
  • 2 years of professional Costume experience
  • Ability to work outside in a desert climate
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs
  • Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and maintain a safe work environment
  • Adhere to all rules and regulations required by the Actor's Equity Association (AEA) and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE).

Nice To Haves

  • 4 - 6 years of professional Costume experience
  • Assistant or Lead experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the wash/cleaning schedule paperwork
  • Overseeing the crew duties including basic care, inspection, and cleaning of garments, shoes, wigs, and craft pieces
  • Stepping into the Wardrobe Maintenance Lead role in their absence

Benefits

  • Limited housing is available at $50 per week.
