About The Position

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of experts, you will be responsible for cost estimating your area of expertise across all Blue Origin programs. Your efforts will support design-for-manufacture studies and inform supplier negotiations. You will be supporting cost-reduction ideas throughout the company. The duties will include the opportunity to shape the future of our estimating practices for decades to come. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Requirements

  • 5+ years of direct experience estimating one or more of the following types of aerospace components: castings/forgings, aerospace structure, welding/joining, valves, tubing, avionics, harnessing, or composites.
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and ability to evaluate and analyze associated costs
  • Demonstrated track record of success in Design for Manufacturability feedback for engineering

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of estimating components for the space industry
  • Experience developing complex estimating software tools/methods
  • Experience incorporating lessons learned from past estimates into future models
  • Strong data analytics skills.
