About The Position
The Cost Estimator is responsible for quoting new inquiries and updating existing parts. The actual production data must be analyzed, and corrective actions implemented, if necessary. The Cost Estimator must have a thorough knowledge of machining and fabricating.
Requirements
- Strong written & verbal communication skills.
- Quality minded, strong attention to detail.
- Basic math ability.
- Basic measuring ability.
- Problem identification and solution.
- Cooperation with innovation and continuous improvement.
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2+ year’s previous experience in the Estimating field.
- General knowledge of CNC or manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MRP system.
- Ability to read drawings.
- Understanding of GD&T tolerancing.
Responsibilities
- Quote new parts and update existing parts using blueprints and other customer supplied data.
- Organize workload to accommodate customers and sales department.
- Locate material and get price and delivery information.
- Assist customers and sales department in product design and material capabilities.
- Attend courses or seminars and assist on project teams when asked.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- May be cross trained for other positions.
