You'll be surrounded by people who are passionate about what they do. Radius Aerospace– Hot Springs is a leading manufacturer of sheet metal parts and assemblies used in the aviation industry. We utilize a wide range of metal forming techniques and special manufacturing processes, servicing the commercial, military, regional jet, helicopter, and general aviation markets. Job Summary We are looking for a motivated employee with good attendance and a willingness to train in all departments for a minimum of 6 weeks or as required to obtain an understanding of the process. Departments worked in will be given credit, if approved by the areas team lead. At the end of this period if attendance and performance has been satisfactory, will start a position in the estimating department at Radius Hot Springs. Estimates labor and material costs of manufacturing and engineering based on request for proposal (RFP) data submitted by prospective customers. Analyzes specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bills of material, or sample layouts, and calculates production costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data. Collects cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors. Computes cost estimates of raw materials or subcontracted work and labor. Prepares and maintains historical cost data. Creates cost models for cost estimating elements. Prepares cost reports and presents findings to management, contract personnel, proposal coordinators, customer representatives, price auditors, vendors, and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree required.
  • Previous manufacturing experience highly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge in Excel and Word.
  • Understanding of Aerospace Aluminium sheet-metal fabrication processes, tool manufacturing, titanium forming, assembly structures and BOMs, and Machining.
  • Ability to read and understand customer specifications, drawings, 3D models, GD& T requirements, and contractual Terms and Conditions.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Ability to learn and work as schedule3d in a variety of areas, including but not limited to: Purchasing/Raw Material Engineering/CNC Department/ Tooling (12 weeks) Hydro forming/ Alignment Stretch Forming (Hot Springs and Shelbyville locations)/Heat Treat(Skin and Extrusion) Chem-Milling Titanium Hot Forming/SPF CNC Machining Waterjet/Laser Processing and Paint Assembly Estimating
  • Know, understand, and follow department policies and procedures.
  • Estimates labor and material costs of manufacturing and engineering based on request for proposal of data submitted by prospective customer.
  • Analyze specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bills of material, or sample layouts, and calculates production costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data.
  • Report to work on time, follow instructions from supervisor or management, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures.
  • Other duties as needed or as assigned.
