Cost Basis Specialist I
About The Position
As a Cost Basis Specialist I is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of cost basis and tax lot reporting. This role focuses on core operational work including cost basis updates, tax lot accuracy, and supporting clients through casework, chats, and calls. This position serves as the entry-level foundation of the cost basis function. As we continue to evolve and live our Orion values, we are looking for someone to grow with us. For External Candidates: Candidates must work in-office at one of the following locations for at least 3 days per week: Omaha, NE. For Internal Candidates: A ll internal employees, regardless of their current work arrangement (remote or in-office), are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and update cost basis tax lots to reflect accurate reporting and system-driven changes.
- Support advisors and firms through chat, calls, and Salesforce cases to resolve cost basis questions.
- Investigate variances across systems and escalate appropriately.
- Perform internal audits to ensure accurate gain/loss and tax lot presentation.
- Participate in regression testing for platform enhancements.
- Coordinate with custodians and internal teams to maintain accurate data.
- Assist in documentation updates and internal control adherence.
- Participate in call/chats queues and manage time‑sensitive client needs.
