The ideal candidate will have a solid background in manufacturing cost analysis, inventory accounting, and financial reporting. This position plays a key role in ensuring cost accuracy, supporting management decisions, and driving process improvements to enhance profitability and operational efficiency. This is a hybrid role (2 days/week at home after onboarding) $72,000 to $77,000 Position does not offer relocation benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other job-related degree.
  • Three (3) years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation methods (e.g., standard costing, FIFO/LIFO), and variance analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to interpret complex cost data.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Able to accept accountability for own actions and business results.
  • Demonstrates initiative, professionalism, and integrity in work ethic.
  • Successfully manage organizational change initiatives.
  • Participate on video calls/team meetings via web camera.
  • Reliable attendance is necessary.

  • Multi-company, international financial consolidations, and currency exchange management are significant pluses.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile financial transactions, statements, records, and reports and lead in maintaining the accuracy of ledgers and financial systems.
  • Assist the Controller in the monthly financial closing process and engage in process improvement activities supporting company strategic objectives, as well as assisting in budgeting processes, highlighting key cost trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain Fixed Assets records and calculate the monthly depreciation expense
  • Prepare and analyze cost reports and cost forecasts for manufacturing operations.
  • Monitor, record, and reconcile production costs, including material, labor, and overhead variances.
  • Maintain standard cost systems and ensure accurate product cost updates.
  • Collaborate with production, purchasing, and operations teams to understand and control manufacturing costs.
  • Develop and implement cost control procedures and process improvements.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements related to inventory and cost accounting.
  • Interface with outside audit firms, banks, suppliers, and customers to resolve any operational issues that arise.
  • Incumbent will back up AP/AR Specialist as needed.
  • React positively to change and Perform other duties as requested.
